Glut is a great white shark from the Disney 1989 movie The Little Mermaid. He is only seen at the beginning, following the introduction of Ariel. She is exploring a sunken ship and Glut discovers her and Flounder and a chase follows,he ends up with his head caught in a steering wheel pole and he is never seen again, he presumably drowned because sharks have to constantly move in order to live.

In an original draft for the movie, Glut managed to escape from his predicament and fights Ariel and Flounder while they are chasing the wedding ship to stop Eric and "Vanessa's" wedding. Flounder musters up the strength and courage and tricks Glut into getting Ariel close enough to the ship for her to get up onto it, and then Glut manages to bite the barrel she was on (which is later revealed to be a gunpowder container), and Flounder manages to escape from the results. It is implied that Glut was killed in the ensuing explosion.

Kingdom Hearts[]
Glut in Kingdom Hearts.
Glut is a minor character in the Kingdom Hearts world of Atlantica based on the movie. Sora is able to battle him because if Sora goes into the area Glut will attack. He is never featured as a boss battle.
Disney Parks[]
Glut is a villain minion/pet of Ursula in Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom. When the park guest must stop Ursula from flooding the Magic Kingdom, she summons Glut to devour her foes. Fortunatly, the guest are able to defeat the shark.
